Aylmer Marina

The Aylmer Marina sits at the foot of the old village, where Lac Deschênes widens before narrowing back into the Ottawa River. In summer it is a lively spot — sailboats and motorboats come and go, and the waterfront terrace of the marina restaurant draws locals for a drink in the evening. The view across the lake toward the Ontario shore, with the Gatineau Hills rising in the background, is one of the best in the area.

The marina is also the departure point for exploring the lake by canoe or kayak, which can be rented nearby. Lac Deschênes extends about 44 km to the west, and the calm water close to shore is manageable even for beginners. The cycling path runs right past the marina, connecting it to the broader Gatineau trail network.
