The wharf at Baie-Sainte-Catherine is one of the main departure points for whale-watching trips in the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park. Boats and zodiacs head into waters where belugas live year-round and larger whales arrive to feed in summer.
Conditions matter. The St. Lawrence can be cold and windy even in July, so dress for the river rather than the village street. Morning trips often have calmer water, though sightings depend on the animals, not the timetable.
