The Musée de la Gaspésie is the peninsula's main regional museum, covering coastal life, settlement, fishing, memory, and the identities that make Gaspésie more than scenery. It is also home to regional archives and publishes Magazine Gaspésie, so the exhibits have more depth than a quick visitor-centre display.
It is a good bad-weather stop, but it is also worth seeing before a drive around the peninsula. The coast looks different when you know who worked it.
