Cap Ferré is a low coastal point east of town, good for seeing the Gulf of St Lawrence without the frame of the harbour. The appeal is simple: wind, rock, open water, and the feeling that the road has nearly run out.
Come here as a short side trip rather than a full excursion. It works best in clear weather, especially if you want a quiet view after the more organised boat trips to the islands.
