The Lac-Brome Museum, run by the Brome County Historical Society, spreads through several historic buildings in Knowlton. Its collections cover Loyalist settlement, early industries, military history, schooling, and British Home Children, with enough local detail to explain why the village still feels distinct from its francophone surroundings.
It is the first stop to make if you want the town to become more than a pretty lake.
