Les Moulins de l'Isle-aux-Coudres

The island's best sight is this pair of restored working mills: a watermill from 1825 and a windmill from 1836, standing close together above the fields. The site is small, but it gives the island's farming history a physical centre.

The watermill still demonstrates stone-grinding, and the shop sells flour and local products. Come early in the day if you are cycling the island loop, then continue west and south with the windmills in your rear-view mirror.
