Matane Wildlife Reserve is the wild counterweight to the St. Lawrence shore. The reserve covers 1,275 square kilometres of lakes, valleys, mountains, and forest, with one of Quebec's notable moose populations and more than 100 kilometres of hiking linked to the International Appalachian Trail.
It is not a casual urban park. Come prepared for distance, gravel-road conditions, seasonal rules, and changing access during hunting periods.
