Bonaventure Island is the wild half of the Percé visit. Boats run from the village in season, usually giving you views of Percé Rock before landing on the island. Trails cross old settlement clearings and coastal meadows to the northern gannet colony, where thousands of white birds crowd the cliff edge.
The island is part of Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé National Park, so check the park schedule before planning a short visit. It is worth allowing enough time to walk out to the colony rather than just circling the island by boat.
