Percé Rock

Massive limestone sea stack and natural arch that has become the emblem of the Gaspé coast.

Percé Rock is the reason most travellers first put Percé on a map. The huge limestone block sits just off the village, pierced by a natural arch and changing colour with the weather and tide. It looks best from the waterfront at different times of day, and from the boat trips that circle toward Bonaventure Island.

Do not treat the low-tide sandbar as an invitation to wander under the cliffs. Rockfall is a real risk, and park rules restrict access around the base.
