Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent is strongest on visual memory. Its photography collection is huge for a regional museum, and it catches everyday eastern Quebec before highways and modern tourism smoothed the edges.
It is a good bad-weather stop, but not only that. Pair it with a walk through the older streets nearby and the town starts to make more sense.
