Mokotakan is an open-air museum and cultural sharing site focused on the First Nations of Quebec. Reconstructed dwellings and guided interpretation introduce the traditions of eleven Indigenous nations, making it the most distinctive cultural stop around Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc.
The site is strongest when visited with time to listen rather than simply walk through. It gives useful context before entering La Mauricie, where the landscape is often treated as empty wilderness even though it has a much older human story.
