Whale watching is Tadoussac's headline experience. Boats leave from the waterfront for the feeding waters of the St. Lawrence, where belugas, minke whales, fin whales, harbour porpoises, and sometimes humpbacks or blue whales are seen in season.
The river can be cold even in summer, especially on a zodiac. Dress for wind and spray rather than for the village street, and treat sightings as wildlife, not a scheduled performance.
