Top Dogtown Trail is a very short loop, but it is one of the park's most memorable stops. Black-tailed prairie dogs whistle, dive, and reappear around the colony, and the open terrain makes it easy to watch without crowding them.
Stay on the trail and keep dogs away from the colony. The stop is small, so it works best as part of the Ecotour drive rather than as a standalone hike.
