The Carmacks Riverfront Boardwalk follows the Yukon River through the village, with open views over the water and interpretive signs along the way. It is a simple walk, but in a place this remote the river is the main street, the old highway, and the reason the settlement is here.
Allow about half an hour if you are stretching your legs on the Klondike Highway. It is most rewarding in long summer light, when the river and low hills do the work.
