Five Finger Rapids is the best natural sight near Carmacks, about 24 km north on the North Klondike Highway. Four rock islands split the Yukon River into five channels, making a place that mattered to river traffic long before the highway took over.
The recreation site has a viewing platform and a short return trail with interpretive panels. It is an easy stop by Yukon standards, but the stairs and riverbank walk make it feel like more than a roadside lookout.
