The Dawson City Museum is the most useful general introduction to town. It covers the Klondike Gold Rush, river transport, mining, local life, and the long afterlife of a place that never fully became the ghost town it might have been.
The building is part of the experience: the museum occupies the old Territorial Administration Building, a large and slightly improbable piece of government architecture for such a remote town.
