Dawson City is about 530 km north of Whitehorse by the Klondike Highway. In summer, this is a long but straightforward drive through central Yukon; in winter, check road conditions carefully before leaving.
Seasonal buses and small regional flights connect Dawson with Whitehorse. The Top of the World Highway links Dawson with Alaska in summer by way of a ferry across the Yukon River; it is closed in winter.
