Midnight Dome is the easy high viewpoint above Dawson. From the top you can see the town grid, the Klondike River joining the Yukon, and the surrounding sweep of dark northern hills.
It is especially good late in the day, when the low summer light makes the river bends shine. In winter and shoulder season, ask locally about road conditions before driving up.
