Finca Duaba

A working cocoa farm five kilometres west of Baracoa, with a short interpretive trail through the cacao trees and a small restaurant serving the region's distinctive coconut-and-cocoa cooking. Baracoa is the cocoa capital of Cuba, supplying most of the country's chocolate, and the farm gives a useful introduction to the trees, the fermentation pits, and the drying patios.

The farm is also the standard starting point for the El Yunque climb. Even if you are not walking up the mountain, the farm makes a pleasant half-day visit, especially combined with lunch.
