All routes to Pinar del Río pass through Havana. The easiest option is a hired car — the drive takes about two hours on the autopista and gives you flexibility to stop in the countryside along the way. Viazul buses run regularly from Havana's main bus terminal and are reliable and comfortable. There is also a train connection, but services run only every other day, so check the schedule carefully before counting on it.
