San Francisco Menendez is not a conventional sightseeing stop, but it matters for orientation. It lies on the lower, hotter side of El Imposible, closer to the coastal plain and some of the park's western approaches.
Use it as a reference point rather than a destination in itself. If you are arranging transport from the coast or combining the park with archaeological sites near Cara Sucia, local advice here can be more useful than a map.
