Parque Recreativo Amapulapa is a local swimming and picnic park on the edge of San Vicente. It is the sort of place Salvadoran families use on hot weekends: pools, shade, food stalls, and plenty of noise when school is out.
Do not come expecting a tranquil nature reserve. Come if you want to understand how the city cools off, or if you are travelling with children and need an easy afternoon. Weekdays are quieter; Sundays are lively.
