The Arctic Circle Trail starts near Kangerlussuaq and runs west across lakes, tundra, low passes, and hut country toward Sisimiut. It is Greenland's best-known long-distance hike because it gives you real wilderness without needing boats between each stage.
Most hikers take a week or a little more, usually between late June and mid-September. Day visitors can still walk a short section out of town to feel the terrain, but the full trail requires planning, food, navigation, and respect for fast-changing Arctic weather.
