Kangerlussuaq Museum is small, but it helps explain why this inland settlement exists at all. The story runs through the Second World War, the Cold War air base, scientific fieldwork, and Greenland's unusual aviation geography.
Visit it if weather pins you down or if the airport-town atmosphere feels confusing. Kangerlussuaq makes more sense once you know it was built as infrastructure first and a civilian settlement second.
