Directly facing the Temple of the Grand Jaguar across the Great Plaza, Temple II stands about 38 metres tall. Built by Jasaw Chan K'awiil I for his wife, Lady Kalajuun Une' Mo', it gets its name from the large masks that once decorated its facade. You can climb a wooden staircase partway up for one of the best views of the Great Plaza and Temple I.
