Haiti's climate is tropical, with two rainy seasons — April to June and October to November — and two dry seasons. The dry months from December through March are the most comfortable for travel. Average temperatures in Port-au-Prince hover around 27–30°C year-round, moderated slightly by altitude in the hills above the city.
The security situation in Port-au-Prince has made travel extremely difficult as of 2024–2025, with large parts of the lower city under gang control. Check current advisories from your government before planning any visit.
