Las Velas (also known as El Cafe de las Velas) is a reliable morning spot a couple of blocks west of the plaza on Avenida 3 NO. The air conditioning is a genuine draw on warmer days, and the coffee and breakfast options are solid without being showy.
Open daily from 7:30am to 7pm, it caters to both locals nursing a morning coffee and travellers looking for wifi and a quiet place to plan the day. The atmosphere is unhurried and the staff friendly. Not the most exciting cafe in town, but one of the most comfortable.
