Cerro de los Gallos is Amealco's easiest outdoor stop, a mixed recreation park on a hill just south of the centre. It has picnic areas, short paths, a suspension bridge, play areas, and activities such as climbing walls and zip lines when operating.
It is best treated as a relaxed local park rather than a wilderness outing. Go for fresh air, a view back toward town, and a break from the craft-and-plaza circuit.
