Amealco's municipal market is the practical centre of town: produce, food stalls, household goods, and some local craft. It is liveliest on weekends, when the town gets more visitors from Queretaro and the surrounding villages.
Come hungry if you want the least polished but most useful food stop in town. It is also a good place to compare doll and embroidery prices before buying from shops around the centre.
