The Tecate Community Museum is modest but useful, especially if you are trying to understand the town as more than a border crossing. Its exhibits cover Kumeyaay culture, the ranching era, and the growth of modern Tecate, using photographs, regional objects, and recreated settings.
It sits a short taxi ride or a long walk from the central plaza. Pair it with the brewery and the plaza for an easy town loop before heading east to La Rumorosa or south toward the wine country.
