The main square is the social and geographic center of Banamichi. A wrought-iron gazebo stands at its heart, shaded by mature trees and ringed by adobe buildings that have changed little since the colonial period. Locals gather here in the evenings, children run between the benches, and the pace of the plaza captures in miniature what makes the Ruta Rio Sonora worth the drive. The square is also the reference point for finding the Piedra Historica and the church.
