Los Sabinos is a forest recreation area just outside the village, named for its old cypress trees. Paths, boardwalks, picnic tables, and a stream make it the easiest place to get into the green side of Capulalpam without arranging a longer Sierra Norte trek.
There are adventure activities as well, including a zipline and rappelling when operating. Even if you skip those, the shade and water make a good counterpoint to the stone streets of the village.
