Tenam Puente

Tenam Puente is a Maya civic and ceremonial site on a series of hills south of Comitán. INAH describes about 60 structures spread across the high ground, with platforms and retaining walls that use the natural slope rather than ignoring it.

It is not as famous as Palenque, and that helps. You come for space, views, and the feeling of a fortified highland city watching the valley below.
