The Santuario Guadalupano is Zamora's showpiece: a vast neo-Gothic church begun in the late 19th century and still visually startling today. Its scale is what makes it memorable, especially in a city that otherwise feels workaday and compact.
Look up from the plaza and the sanctuary seems almost too large for its surroundings. That mismatch is part of the pleasure.
