Museo de la Fotografía

INAH photography museum attached to the Fototeca Nacional in the old San Francisco complex.

The Museo de la Fotografía occupies part of the former San Francisco convent and works as the public face of the Fototeca Nacional, Mexico's national photography archive. The permanent rooms move through portraiture, social movements, daily life, landscape, and experimental photography, with images drawn from collections that reach deep into the 19th and 20th centuries.

It is not a flashy museum, but it is a serious one. Go when you want a quieter stop that says more about Mexican memory than another monument could. The museum is usually free and sits a short walk from the Reloj Monumental.
