Museo Pinal de Amoles is a small regional museum near the centre, useful before heading out into the mountains. Exhibits touch on early settlement, mining, natural history, fossils, and the wider Sierra Gorda.
It is not the reason to travel here, but it helps ground the day. Stop in if it is open, especially if bad weather is making the natural sites less appealing.
