Campo Alegre is a wooded recreation area close to the centre of San Joaquín. It is not a wilderness park, but it gives the town one of its nicest everyday spaces: trees, picnic areas, grills, and enough room to breathe after the road up from the lowlands.
Travellers should treat it as a pause rather than a headline sight. It works best between the caves and the town centre, or as a simple family stop on a warm day.
