The Museo Costumbrista de Sonora is the town's most useful indoor stop. Its exhibits cover Álamos, Sonora, colonial travel routes, and the local tenor Alfonso Ortiz Tirado, whose January festival is the town's biggest cultural event.
It is small, but it gives good context before you walk the mansion streets.
