The church of La Purísima Concepción anchors the centre of Álamos. Built between the mid-18th and early 19th centuries, it mixes baroque and classical details in the solid, sun-baked style of northern Mexico.
It is not a huge cathedral, but it gives the town its skyline and explains why the Plaza de Armas feels so complete.
