Tlalpujahua's ornament industry began in the 1960s and now defines much of the town's economy. Fábrica de Esferas Fimave is one of the places to see that work up close, with glass baubles, painted ornaments, and the slightly surreal feeling of Christmas being made all year.
It is most fun in the run-up to December, when the workshops and shops feel less like a side business and more like the town's main performance.
