Rayon National Park protects a small hilltop area tied to the Mexican War of Independence. The Rayon brothers built fortifications here in 1812, and traces of that history sit among dense pine forest.
The park is compact, but the mix of history, birds, and views makes it an easy outing from Tlalpujahua.
