Plaza de la Constitución is Tlaxcala's centre of gravity. The square was laid out in the early colonial period and is framed by arcades, civic buildings, restaurants, and the state government palace.
It is a good place to arrive without a plan. Sit near the kiosk, look for the Santa Cruz fountain, then use the plaza as the starting point for the murals, museums, churches, and food nearby.
