A roadside shack on the beach road with two wooden swings under a thatched roof, Matcha Mama has become one of the most photographed spots in Tulum despite being essentially a smoothie counter. The drinks are good — matcha lattes with oat milk, açaí bowls, ginger and turmeric shots — and you order at the window and sit on a swing or one of a few stools while you drink.
It is busy from breakfast until early afternoon, and there is sometimes a short queue for the swings. Open every day; cash and card both accepted. The same operators have a second outlet further down the road, less photogenic and less crowded.
