Mexico-Cuba Friendship Museum

Small riverfront museum about the Granma yacht and Tuxpan's link to the Cuban Revolution.

The Mexico-Cuba Friendship Museum marks one of Tuxpan's stranger historical footnotes. In 1956 the yacht Granma left from this area with Fidel Castro, Raul Castro, Che Guevara, and other rebels on board, bound for Cuba.

The museum is modest, with photos, documents, and memorabilia rather than a grand production. It is still worth the stop because the story is so specific to Tuxpan: a quiet Mexican port becoming the departure point for a revolution.
