The Chorotega Nicarao Archeological Museum is the city's strongest cultural stop. Its collection of precolonial ceramics, stone pieces and household objects connects modern Chinandega to the Indigenous societies of western Nicaragua.
It sits on the eastern edge of the city centre, so take a taxi if the day is already hot.
