Punta de las Figuras Lighthouse

Punta de las Figuras Lighthouse was built by the Spanish colonial administration in 1893 to mark this stretch of Puerto Rico's southeast coast. The light was later moved, and the old building has had a rough life of abandonment, restoration, storm damage, and neglect.

The interior is not the reason to come; it may be closed or unsafe. The value is the weathered neoclassical building, the sea air, and the nearby beaches and kiosks that make it an easy stop on a coastal drive.
