Toro Negro is Puerto Rico's highest forest country, spread across the central mountains around Ciales, Orocovis, and Jayuya. Trails, pools, rivers, and cloud-wrapped viewpoints make it one of the island's strongest inland nature stops.
It is not as polished or easy as El Yunque, which is part of the point. Come prepared for mountain roads, changing weather, and limited services, and you get a wilder view of Puerto Rico.
