Mirador Mariana Bracetti is the easiest place to understand Lares as a mountain town. The lookout gives broad views over the town and the green ridges around it, with enough height to make the winding drive feel worthwhile.
It is a quick stop, but a good one before dropping into the centre for the plaza and ice cream.
