When to Go

Saint Kitts and Nevis share the standard eastern Caribbean tropical rhythm: warm and breezy year-round, with a clear dry season and a riskier wet/hurricane season.

Dry season (December–April) is the peak time. Daytime temperatures hover around 27–29°C, the trade winds keep things comfortable, and the chance of rain on any given day is low. This is also the cruise-ship and high-season window — book hotels well ahead and expect higher prices.

Shoulder (May–June and November) offers similar weather at noticeably lower prices, with brief afternoon showers more likely.

Wet/hurricane season (July–November) brings heavier rain and the genuine — though statistically low — possibility of a hurricane. Direct hits to the islands are infrequent but real; September is the riskiest month. Travel insurance with weather provisions is worth the price.

St Kitts Music Festival in late June draws regional acts and is the islands' biggest annual event. Culturama on Nevis runs late July into the first weekend of August, with parades and pageants.

Whale-watching off the Narrows between the two islands is best February–April when humpbacks pass through.
