Good People was Birmingham's first craft brewery, opened in 2008, and still one of the most reliable. The taproom is in the Lakeview District between Five Points South and Avondale, with a large outdoor patio. Their Snake Handler Double IPA is the beer that put them on the Alabama craft beer map — high-ABV, tropical-fruity, and named for the religious practice still found in pockets of Alabama.
A natural stop on any bar crawl of the Avondale-Lakeview corridor. The patio is packed on summer evenings and the indoor taproom is large enough to find a seat even on a busy Friday.
